About the Belton, Texas Area

The city of Belton is located in the heart of Central Texas in Bell County. Established in 1850, Belton boasts the well-known Chisholm Trail. This route originally ran through the center of downtown, playing an important part in the economic revitalization that followed the Civil War.
With one of the finest park systems in Texas, Belton provides residents with 145 acres of land devoted to family recreation. The city’s park acreage is divided into three categories – community parks, neighborhood parks, and special purpose parks. The community parks that offer full amenities to the entire city year-round are Heritage Park, Chisholm Trail Park, Yettie Polk Park, and Confederate Park. There are four neighborhood parks in the city of Belton. They are Beall Park, South Wall, Housing Authority, and Quail Meadows Park. These parks are generally used by residents of a certain neighborhood and usually within walking distance from the homes within that neighborhood. The special purpose parks are used mainly for sporting events. Belton has four special purpose parks that active residents can enjoy: Continental Field, Lions Field, Griggs Field, and Jaycee Field.

Time to Move >Remodel Or Move
At some point your present home may begin to feel cramped. You would like enough room to have an "adult haven", but you must weigh the price of a larger home over against the prospect of living with contractors and plaster dust for a long time. Is it better to remodel or to look for a new home?
Before you decide on a major home improvement project, talk with a real estate agent who knows your neighborhood. Will the changes you have in mind over-improve your home, making it difficult to re-sell? Will you be able to recover the cost of your investment? Find out how much your present home is currently worth, and how much home equity you have. You may be able to make a substantial down payment that lowers your mortgage payments on a larger home. It may be worth making a move to avoid the stress and inconvenience of remodeling, if you can find a new home with all the features you would like to add to your present home.
